About

Murat Paşa (Murat Pasha) mosque was constructed in 1570 during the Ottoman reign, but it is possible to find the traces of Seljuk Calligraphi Art in the mosque. Usage of collected material in the construction, which can be seen in most of the Turk-Islam architects in Anatolia, was also used in the construction of this mosque. The columns at the back side of the mosque, and their heading made in the style of Corinth style are the significant examples of the collected materials. 

At this period of the Ottoman Reign, there were two Murat Paşa related to Antalya, and it creates a confusion about the construction budgeter of the mosque. Even though with the impressions from the Seyahatname of Evliya Çelebi mosque was referred as Kuyucu (Weller) Mehmet Paşa Mosque, in the lights of the latest data gathered, the mosque was not financed by the Grand Vizier Kuyucu Mehmet Paşa of this period who was famous with the brutal and dominant type of ruling, but it was financed by the Karaman Lord Murat Paşa....
